Jason brings an excellent combination of business and legal knowledge and experience to the clients of the Nygaard Law Firm. Prior to working for the Nygaard Law Firm, Jason worked in the financial services industry for over five years, as both an accountant for a local mutual fund company as a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative of a local broker/dealer and Registered Investment Advisor.
Jason is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law (UMKC), where he graduated with an emphasis in litigation. Jason also completed undergraduate and post-graduate studies in business at UMKC, where he earned a Masters of Business Administration (emphasis in Finance - 2000), and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (1997). While in law school, he was recognized for academic excellence by earning Dean's List honors in all six semesters he attended the UMKC School of Law. In addition, Jason also served as the Managing Editor of The Urban Lawyer, which is the American Bar Association's National Quarterly on State and Local Government Law, as an associate on the UMKC Law Review for two years, and was one of sixteen members of the Ellison Moot Court Competition.
Jason also earned second place honors in the Marvin & Patricia Rich Corporate Law Prize, which is a merit-based annual award which recognizes law students of superior character, academic achievement and potential and that plan to pursue a corporate legal specialty after graduation.
Jason is currently admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas.
