	Katie D. Whitman is a 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. Her emphasis in law school was on business law and corporate finance. Katie earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University in 2003. She joined The Nygaard Law Firm in February 2008. Katie worked in the financial services industry for ten years. She had series 63 and 7 licenses. As a Registered Representative, she worked primarily in customer service and operations for large broker dealers and financial planning firms.

Prior to joining the Nygaard Law Firm, Katie served as Deputy Chief Counsel for the Securities Division of the Missouri Secretary of State from 2006-2008. While at the Division, she brought actions on behalf of the Commissioner of Securities in cases involving unsuitable trading, unregistered activities, failure to supervise, among other fraudulent activities. She reviewed dozens of securities offerings being brought to the market in Missouri to ensure that those offerings were in compliance with Missouri securities laws. Katie co-presented at the Missouri Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education Seminar on Securities Law for Small Business Attorneys and has presented to the Missouri Agricultural Small Business Development Authority.

Katie is currently admitted to practice in Missouri.
